Rebecca Norton OTR, CHT - Primary Care Provider
Rebecca graduated from Colorado State University,
with honors, in 1986.
She did an internship in hand therapy at the VA Medical
Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has been
treating hands and the upper extremity since then, in a variety of settings. Rebecca opened her practice, HandWorks, in
2002. She continues to be the primary treating therapist, but also relies on her wonderful staff to fill in as
needed.
In addition to her education as an occupational
therapist, Rebecca was also nationally
certified in massage therapy in 1994. She has extensive training in many manual therapies, including
cranio-sacral therapy, myofascial release,
Feldenkrais , Reiki, etc., which allows
her to have a deeper sensitivity to tissues and movement awareness. (The old adage, “no pain, no gain” is NOT encouraged in this
practice).
She is also Certified in Neuro-developmental Treatment for Adult Hemiplegia, the only OT in the valley that is certified in this treatment method for progressing patients out of stroke and brain trauma, and helping
them to regain functional use of their arms.
Rebecca served as the President of the Montana OT Association, and was also state Representative to the American Occupational Therapy Association. She stays current by attending educational seminars each year, and has an extensive library in her clinic.
